Food Bank Run

Online supplier RUNR have initiated an annual Food Bank Run that is gaining pace ready for 2023. Created off the back of a run started several years ago by Hampshire based running club, Fareham Running Club, they are now encouraging every club, group and food bank to link up and create their own Food Bank Run.

February is a key time of the year where families are hardest hit. Christmas has come and gone, a time where families feel the pressure to put food on the table and spend money on their children, plus there is a pause on some household bills. Then February arrives and suddenly the bills arrive at a time when cash is even more hard to come by. This is why the month of February is such an important time of the year and why we’re focusing on supporting Food Bank Runs on any day of the month.

Committee have agreed that Sneyd Striders will do a Food Bank Run on Thursday 23rd February and that we will support our local All Saints Church Food Bank. Several of our members are involved with All Saints and the Bloxwich Team Ministry and you will remember that we donated our surplus Christmas Puddings to them last month for the benefit of our local community. To this end I will be placing a box in the Lounge at the school on club nights during February for members to place non-perishable food donations in.
