Sneyd Back After Lockdown

Tuesday, 30th March was the first club night back after lockdown. We followed the rule of 6 for running groups with some groups doing 1 mile laps of King George V memorial playing fields whilst others ran a 6 mile canal route. A great night was had by all.

This Monday, 29th March we say a big congratulations to Chris Stanton, Julie Cox, Helen Ward and Ian Cox. They completed their last assessment to become England Athletics run leaders, with the help of the Sneyd Striders members. They will be future run leaders for Sneyd Striders and will help and encourage all Sneyd runners. Well done!

This Saturday, two of our wonderful club members Debby Snapper and Ali Lee took to the streets of Willenhall, Bloxwich, Essington and Wednesfield to complete the virtual Ashby 20 mile rice. Numerous members met Debby and Ali at various points on their route to show support and cheer the ladies on. Well done ladies, you absolutely smashed it and we all hope you are having a well-deserved rest today!

A massive well done to our run leader Gavin Harrison who has scooped the runners up prize for the Athletics and Running at Home in Lockdown Award, in the England Athletics West Midlands Section virtual Awards Evening last Monday.

We offer Gavin our sincere congratulations and thank him for his hard work and enthusiasm during the Spring Lockdown in keeping us all motivated. Gavin is in the process of planning a December Christmas activity in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Bloxwich Phoenix to spread a bit of Christmas cheer around our estates in December.

Please find below the finalised results for the Championship. Thanks to Dick Johnson for his hard work in processing the final raw results. Congratulations to all the trophy winners and indeed to every single person who took part. Trophies are scheduled to be awarded at Presentation evening 2021, scheduled for next February subject to coronavirus regulations in force at the time. Should it not be possible to hold presentation evening in its usual format, committee will make alternative arrangements to get trophies to their worthy winners.
